Kratos Awarded Multi-Million Dollar Contract for UH-60 Black Hawk Multi-Configuration MEDEVAC Crew Training Systems for the U.S. Army

SAN DIEGO, July 31, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc.(Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today it has received a new multi-million dollar contract award to develop UH-60 Black Hawk MEDEVAC air crew training systems. Kratos will provide multiple simulated full-fidelity Medical Support Equipment Suite (MSES) trainers to teach Flight Medic students how to operate all on-board systems.

The MSES is a full-fidelity training system that provides Flight Medics the training required to treat, stabilize and provide in-flight medical care to the critically injured or ill while being transported aboard the air ambulance. The simulated systems replicate the confined environment of the air ambulance and include a fully functional Medical Interior Kit.

In addition, the training system will support scenario-based team mission training. Teams will be able to use an authentic training environment for communication, patient loading and unloading, and patient care while addressing obstruction issues under day, night and Night Vision Goggle (NVG) conditions as they might encounter under actual combat situations.

"We are very pleased to continue advancing air crew training systems for the U.S. Army," said Jose Diaz, Senior Vice President of Kratos Training Solutions. "As a leading manufacturer for training systems for the UH-60 platform over the last 10 years, Kratos is an established partner for high performance training."

Kratos provides numerous training solutions to the U.S. Army and other military services with a specific expertise in air crew and maintenance training solutions for mission critical Warfighter platforms such as the CH-47F Chinook, AH-64A Apache, M2/M3A2 ODS and M2/M3A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicles, M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) and M147 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS).

The work will be performed under a subcontract to USfalcon, Inc. (Morrisville, NC) on the SPOTS V contract vehicle.
