INDIANAPOLIS, IND., Aug. 5, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Indianapolis branding firm Miles Design announced today that their founder's first book, Bold Brand, took home second place honors in the 36th annual SMPS (Society for Marketing Professional Services) National Marketing Communications Awards best book or monograph category. Awards were handed out in Orlando, Florida, at the Awards Gala during the 2013 SMPS national conference Build Business: Dream Big.
The SMPS Marketing Communications Awards program is the longest-standing, most prestigious awards competition that recognizes excellence in marketing communications by professional services firms in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) design and building industry.
Winning entries were judged relative to the project's marketing objectives, content, measurable results and overall budget. Judges described Bold Brand as, "very thoughtful," and "first rate."
"We're thrilled that Bold Brand has been recognized for this award," says Joe Pulizzi, founder of Content Marketing Institute, publisher of the book. "Bold Brand is a great tool that helps professional services firms understand how important effective branding and the use of social media and content marketing will be to their future success."
In addition to accepting the award, Josh Miles was also on-site for a book signing, and to co-present during the conference.
Josh Miles, the author of Bold Brand shared, "I wrote Bold Brand to try to help professional services firms improve the way they brand, communicate, and position themselves in the marketplace, so it's a huge honor to be recognized by an organization that does so much to help professional services firms become better marketers."
Miles Design has been recognized in previous SMPS Marketing Communication Awards for website redesign projects in the past. Their AEC website redesign for BSA Lifestructures won third place in 2012, and RATIO Architects took home first place in the SMPS Marketing Communications Awards in 2010.
