JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Aug. 19, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- With nothing but a smart phone and 600 pounds of French fries in his truck, one wildly ambitious entrepreneur is launching a 4,500-mile road trip across the country showcasing what it takes to truly grow a business from the ground up.

Scott Nelowet, founder and CEO of French Fry Heaven, a budding franchise specializing in 50+ flavors of gourmet French fries, is taking a 15-day "Fries Across America" tour in a food truck starting Sept. 5 in Houston and culminating in Atlanta on Sept. 20. In total, Nelowet will hit eight cities identified as key growth markets for the brand.

"I'm not satisfied to sit back and wait for people to come to me to hear about my little business, so I'm bringing my show on the road," Nelowet said. "An entrepreneur does not hide behind an electronic wall and wait for websites to find them opportunity. I believe I have an opportunity that will allow others to achieve their maximum potential. If any of us wants to thrive and help others to flourish, then it is up to us to get out there and make that happen."

At each stop, Nelowet's goal is to attract entrepreneurs interested in learning about the keys to being a successful business owner and what it means to own a French Fry Heaven franchise. While treating attendees with a gourmet fry-tasting experience, Nelowet will simultaneously feed their entrepreneurial spirits with his contagious passion. Nelowet will also tweet and share status updates, photos, videos and blog posts throughout the entire trip.

Because French Fry Heaven requires low start-up costs with maximum flexibility in location and operations, Nelowet will be looking to recruit both individual and multi-unit owners. Community service is an integral part of the French Fry Heaven culture, and Nelowet seeks franchisees who share that value. During the tour, Nelowet will share information about the benefits of French Fry Heaven's franchise model, including flexibility in site selection, uniform design, sauce and flavor creation, and local advertising and collaboration with other businesses. Franchisees are also provided with an iPad-based POS system that allows them to monitor all aspects of their location from anywhere in the world.

The Fries Across America tour dates include:

  • Houston, Sept. 5
  • Dallas, Sept. 6
  • Phoenix, Sept. 9
  • Las Vegas, Sept. 11
  • Denver, Sept. 15
  • Indianapolis, Sept. 18
