Karen Vangyia Named Managing Partner of KPMG's St. Louis Office

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 9, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, has named Karen Vangyia as Managing Partner of its St. Louis office, effective October 1.

In her new role, Vangyia will be responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the St. Louis office and in continuing to make KPMG a great place to build a career. She most recently served KPMG as leader of its advisory practice in St. Louis. She joined the firm's St. Louis office in 1996 and was named a partner in 2005. Vangyia succeeds Jerry Carlson, who has been named Managing Partner of KPMG's Washington D.C. office.

Vangyia has strong ties to the community having served as one of the leaders of the local KPMG Network of Women Committee for the past six years and also lending her time to a number of civic organizations, including the United Way's Women's leadership giving cabinet.

She graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. She is a licensed CPA in Missouri.
