Reports of glitches with the PlayStation 4 could cast a cloud over Sony's latest product.
More than 1 million PS4s were bought by consumers in North America within the first 24 hours of the new games console going on sale last Friday.

Complaints on Sony's Playstation forum about a blinking blue light flashing on the new consoles have prompted the Japanese electronics giant to publish a troubleshooting guide for users facing problems with the new games console.
"I was one of the unlucky ones who got a defective unit with the 'Blinking Blue Light,'" one customer wrote on Amazon.com's website . "From what Sony is telling people, the failure rate is about half a percent...but there sure are a lot of unhappy users online."
Despite the early glitches, the PS4 has been a big win with consumers judging by early sales. On Amazon.com 1,735 customers gave the product a five-star rating from a total of 2,678 reviews as of Tuesday afternoon in Asia, with a number of positive reviews.

There was no immediate response from Sony to an email from CNBC regarding the glitches in the new PS4.
In a report about the PS4 in the Huffington Post, a Sony representative was quoted as saying: "We are closely monitoring for additional reports, but we think these are isolated incidents and represent a very small percentage of total units shipped to consumers to date."
Sony is expected to release the PS4 in Europe and Latin America this Friday and in Japan next February.
