Australian authorities are threatening to put down two dogs belonging to Johnny Depp unless the actor returns them to the U.S., The Guardian newspaper reported Thursday.
Heart throb Depp, star of films including "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Edward Scissorhands," is in trouble with Australia's Department of Agriculture after failing to declare his two Yorkshire terriers when he flew into Australia on his private jet last month, the newspaper reported.
The actor is in the country to film the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie series and brought his dogs, Boo and Pistol, with him for the duration of the shoot.
Australia has strict biosecurity rules, however, in an effort to keep diseases such as rabies out of the country.
Australia's Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce told reporters on Thursday that Depp had not got proper certification and permits for the pups, according to The Guardian.

"We found out he snuck them in because we saw him taking them to a poodle groomer," he said.
The minister gave Depp 50 hours to "either take his dogs back to California or we are going to have to euthanize them," and added: "It's time that Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States."
No one should be able to bypass biosecurity rules, the minister reportedly said -- even if they had been voted the world's sexiest man twice.
