A Google executive has died unexpectedly while attending the Cannes Lions festival in France, an awards show and conference for advertising professionals, according to reports.
"We lost a loved and respected member of our team," said a statement from Google's press team. "We are deeply saddened and our thoughts are with his family and friends."

The identity of the executive was not revealed, but at least one report said the employee was a member of the company's marketing team.
