Germany's Software AG said Tuesday that fourth-quarter profit rose 19% as the company boosted earnings from license fees.
Net income for the three months through Dec. 31 rose to 22.3 million euros ($28.9 million), from 18.8 million euros in the same period a year earlier, the company said in a statement. Sales rose 8.7% to 134.4 million euros ($174.2 million).
Revenue from licenses accounted for more than 34% of the company's earnings in the full year, compared with 30% in 2005, the company said in a statement. Maintenance revenue amounted to 187.3 million euros, up 3% from the previous year.
Software shares dropped 3.3% to 57.87 euros ($75) in Frankfurt.
