CNBC Europe, the leading pan-European business and financial TV network, is to appear in print by joining forces with European Business magazine.
CNBC Europe has linked up with London-based Ink Publishing to relaunch European Business magazine as a co-branded, monthly publication renamed CNBC European Business.
It comes as CNBC Europe’s daily audience has grown five times faster than any of its rival channels and capitalises on the success of European Business magazine, launched by travel and business publishing specialist Ink Publishing in October 2004.
CNBC Europe reaches 5.8 million viewers per month, according to the EMS 2005 survey and is attracting 1.8 million more viewers than any other pan-European business and financial channel. Its audience is made up of senior business leaders, financial professionals and active private investors, an audience which is both valuable and difficult to reach for advertisers.
CNBC European Business magazine will echo CNBC Europe’s on-air programming with business features, columns and comment, while allowing for in-depth analysis of interest to the continent’s senior business managers, financial professionals, investors, CEOs and CFOs.
Jeffrey O’Rourke, Chief Executive of Ink Publishing, said: “CNBC Europe and European Business share many of the same objectives in bringing up-to-date, informed and relevant business and economic information to Europe’s business decision makers.
“CNBC Europe has been a key supporter of European Business from the initial launch of the magazine last year. Formalising our relationship by integrating the two brands not only makes good business sense but also offers something new to readers and advertisers. Ink and CNBC Europe will be pooling our editorial, marketing and sales resources to produce a high quality, integrated television and print offering. We are delighted to be part of this exciting initiative to meet a growing appetite for business and financial news in the world’s biggest trading market.”
Mick Buckley. President & CEO, CNBC Europe said: “Working together with Ink to co-produce Europe’s leading business magazine is a great opportunity for CNBC Europe and sets us further apart from other pan-regional channels. The magazine format enables us to promote our programme schedule and integrates extremely well with our on-air programming strategy of bringing more CEO interviews and insights to the channel. It also provides us with an ideal cross media opportunity for our clients.
“Our event-led approach to programming and marketing activities sees us at many of Europe’s leading events such as 3GSM World Congress, CeBIT, and the International Advertising Festival. CNBC European Business will help raise awareness of the channel by being distributed at these events, and give us another way to reach our target audience who see the magazine on the newsstand, in-flight, in business lounges and at their hotels. ”
The World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2006, will be the first event where the new CNBC European Business magazine will be widely available. Other events throughout the year will include the Frankfurt Motor Show, ITB Berlin, MIPIM, the Paris Air Show, the World Investment Conference in La Baule and the World Travel Market London.
CNBC European Business will continue to be distributed by leading magazine distributor COMAG, and will be available on newsstands throughout Europe and around the world. Subscriptions and an online version of the magazine can be found online at www.europeanbusiness.eu.com.
It will also reach high-end business travellers by being available in-flight with key airlines, in airport lounges and in major hotels.
The magazine is an important part of Ink’s portfolio of magazines, which includes more in-flight publications than any other company in the world. Ink also publishes Bradmans Business Travel Guides.
