Lonza Confirms Long-Term Targets

Lonza Group said it has started well in 2007 and confirmed its long-term guidance of 8-12% annual sales growth through to 2012.

Furthermore, the Swiss life science group said it expects EBIT to grow annually by 15-20% during the period.

Lonza said that the "visibility of contracts and projects together with economic conditions" currently support its outlook for "continuous growth until 2012".

For the current business year, Lonza said it expects EBIT growth above its long-term guidance.

In parallel, the group's tax rate should decrease to 20%, while its gearing level, in the wake of recent acquisitions, is currently at 92%, it said.
