CNBC Europe, the leading pan-European business and financial TV channel, has announced that its German advertising sales team, under Jörg Köppen, will now be responsible for the Central and Eastern European markets of Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Macedonia and Bulgaria. These markets had previously been managed from CNBC Europe’s headquarters in London.
Jörg Köppen, who joined CNBC Europe in 2004, was previously responsible for the German and Austrian ad sales markets, where last year he increased ad sales revenues by 76%. Köppen reports to Liz Jones, Vice President and European Sales Director at CNBC Europe.
“While Germany remains a critical market for us," said Liz Jones, “We will use our Frankfurt office as a hub to expand into Central and Eastern Europe, as a growing number of advertisers in these markets look to target CNBC's influential and affluent audience across Europe. I anticipate that this year we will see significant advertising growth from these markets."
A first step is the extension of the ad sales team in Frankfurt and Marianeve Damascato (41) joins as an account director, reporting to Jörg Köppen. “We are happy that Marianeve is joining our team,” commented Jörg Köppen, Commercial Director, Germany. “She has got a great deal of experience in the international ad sales business and great knowledge of the Eastern European markets.”
Since October 1996, Marianeve worked at the Wall Street Journal in Frankfurt as a Senior Sales Executive covering the regions of Frankfurt, Berlin, Hungary, Romania, Russia, Slovenia and Croatia. Prior to that worked for several companies in the financial sector.
