Toothpaste, tissues and diapers might not be the sexiest products on The Street, but boy are they hot stocks. Wednesday Colgate-Palmolive (CL) reported increased international sales and shares moved 2% higher. And on Tuesday, Kimberly-Clark (KMB) - maker of Huggies and Kleenex - jumped as much as 3% on a down day. What’s the trade, here?
Pete Najarian says strong earnings from these companies are a result of their international exposure. He also recommends keeping an eye on Clorox (CLX) as well as Avon (AVP) which he likes for recent options activity.
Jeff Macke says the international component has introduced growth to companies that had none for years. He agrees with Pete and recommends getting long the above mentioned consumer names.
Eric Bolling prefers the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP) which he says is up more than 12% year to date.
