Stocks On The Move

Following are the days biggest winners and losers. Find out why shares of The9 Limited (NCTY), Beazer Homes (BZH) and Las Vegas Sands (LVS) popped while Clorox (CLX) and Nortel (NT) dropped. (Note to readers; many of you will be happy to know that this post also contains Eric Bolling’s latest take on MPEL!)

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

The9 Limited (NCTY) pops 11% as demand for role-playing games in China remains strong. – Guy Adami says, “I told you so, last year!”

Beazer Homes (BZH) pops 14% after hot shot hedge fund Citadel doubles its stake in the homebuilder, a day after false bankruptcy rumors – Eric Bolling says stay out of this stock.

Las Vegas Sands (LVS) pops 8% as its Macao casino posted runaway growth. – Eric Bolling says Macao is outpacing Las Vegas and Melco PBL Entertainment (MPEL) is still his favorite Macao stock.

Pharmion (PHRM) pops 58% after a phase 3 trial found that the biotech's leukemia drug added 9 months to the lives of some patients. – Pete Najarian likes this stock.

Dolby Laboratories (DLB) pops 13% after the sound-system company blew out the speakers on street estimates. – Guy Adami says you can’t stop the digital revolution.

Drunk Behavior On Trains - Amtrak to offer $100 in free booze to customers on overnight train rides. Dylan Ratigan is speechless.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

Clorox (CLX) drops 7% (the most in two years) as people will buy less bleach this year than analysts anticipated. – Pete Najarian says consumer staples should be a safe play. Move along.

LeapFrog Enterprises (LF) drops 16% because educational toys are starting to lose some popularity ...LF said sales would drop this year. – Jeff Macke says it’s a cold stock.

Nortel (NT) drops 6% after the infamous telecom equipment maker cut its profit forecast. – Guy Adami says own the stock down to $19 but stop out.

Getty Images (GYI) drops 19% after this picture peddling company says customers turned to free sources of images online. – Jeff Macke says this stock is doomed.

Callaway Golf (ELY) drops 6% after its higher forecast still wasn't on par with The Street’s lofty expectations. Pete Najarian says they don’t have Tiger Woods and gives this stock a Bronx cheer.
