US Airways to Reduce Pittsburgh Service

US Airways Group said on Wednesday it will cut flights from its unprofitable Pittsburgh hub, a move that will cut about 450 airlines jobs in the city.

The No. 7 U.S. airline, formed in 2005 by the merger of US Airways and America West, said it will reduce the number of daily flights it operates in Pittsburgh to 22 from 31.

Shares of the company rose almost 2.5% Wednesday.
