Rohm and Haas to Raise Prices 5% to 15%

Specialty chemicals maker Rohm and Haas said Monday it would seek price hikes of between 5 percent to 15 percent for most of its products because of high raw materials prices that have added $100 million to its costs.

The company had expected raw material costs for products such as propylene, ethylene, methanol and tin to peak around mid-year and then begin to retreat.

However, the increases have continued, the company said, and no relief is expected in the near future.
