Gaz de France Sales Slip after Mild Weather

Gaz de France reported a 6.5 percent fall in nine-month revenues at 18.130 billion euros ($26.13 billion), as almost neutral weather conditions in the third quarter helped make up for an unusually mild winter.

The state-owned utilities group, which has agreed to merge with French electricity and water group Suez, stuck to its guidance for flat core earnings in 2007, saying the forecast assumed average climate conditions in the last quarter of the year.

Gaz de France said it generated sales of 4.352 billion euros in the third quarter alone, up 9.7 percent year on year.

Seven analysts polled by Reuters had forecast nine-month revenues of 17.71 billion euros on average.
