EDF Energies Nouvelles Q3 sales growth accelerates to 16.2 pct UPDATE

(updates with more details of Q3, 9 mths figures) PARIS (Thomson Financial) - EDF Energies Nouvelles said third-quarter sales jumped to 159.9 mln eur from 137.6 mln a year earlier, as rapid expansion of wind power capacity enabled growth to accelerate to 16.2 pct from 5.1 pct in the second quarter and a fall of 0.7 pct in the first three months of 2007.

Growth was spurred by a 14.3 pct leap in revenues in the Americas, where revenues sank 31.3 pct in the previous quarter.

For the nine months to September, group revenues rose 9.9 pct to 283.4 mln eur from 257.8 mln.

Some revenues related to the Pomeroy (198 megawatts) and Goodnoe (94 MW) projects in the US were posted in the third quarter, but the bulk of revenues from these two facilities is expected during the fourth quarter, the company said.

EDF EN said it sees full-year net profit above 40 mln eur, and reaffirmed its full-year EBITDA guidance of 125-135 mln. It expects to have installed capacity of more than 1,000 MW by year-end.
