PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Veolia Environnement said high energy prices will have no significant impact on its 2007 results but "there may be a slight impact on our EBIT" in 2008 although it is too early to determine a precise figure.
"When we had a big increase in oil prices two years ago we had around a 17 mln (eur) impact on our transportation division and a bit more than 15 mln on the Veolia waste business," an official said during a conference call.
Since then the company has reduced its exposure to energy prices in the transport sector, although in some locations in northern Europe it has not yet been able to.
