European Shares Seen Tracking US, Asia Lower

European shares were set to open sharply lower on Tuesday, tracking losses in the United States and Asia, with another heavy earnings day in prospect.

Bookmakers saw Britain's FTSE 100 opening down 30 to 46 points, Germany's DAX down 44 to 60 points and France's CAC 40 35 to 56 points lower, making for losses of as much as 0.7 to 1.0 percent.

Vodafone leads a clutch of companies reporting, as concerns grow that credit market woes will slow earnings over the next couple of quarters at some of Europe's top names.
