Hollywood Hedge Fund: Indievest

Wall Street is going Hollywood! This week J.P. Morgan announced plans to invest $200 million in the movie business. Should you follow their lead?

Wade Bradley, CEO & Founder ofIndieVest, an independent film studio and financier of feature films, joins the panel for this conversation. Following are excerpts.

What exactly do you do?

We’re an independent studio, financier and distributor serving a high net worth data base of investors, explains Bradley. We only look at projects that are completely developed so the talent is attached and the script is ready to go and they’re ready to shoot.

As I understand it, your investor base makes the investment decisions -- but aren't you the movie experts?

We only develop top tier films and then ultimately it’s our members who decide which ones get the green light by voting with their investment capital, explains Bradley.

But what do they know about the movie business?

They know about what resonates with them he adds. And we only deal with films that drive an audience in the market place.
