European Shares Set to Track US, Asia Higher

European shares were set to rise early on Friday, tracking gains in the United States and Asia as progress in finalizing a U.S. economic stimulus package helped sustain a stock recovery.

Financial bookmakers expected Britain's FTSE 100 to open 58-60 points higher, Germany's DAX to rise 79 to 91 points and France's CAC to gain 43 to 65 points.

The FTSEurofirst 300 index of top European shares soared 5.4 percent on Thursday.
