From Turkey to Colombia, how can you find opportunities in areas of political unrest?
Hedge fund and private equity consultant John D’Agostino, author of “Rigged: The True Story of an Ivy League Kid Who Changed the World of Oil, from Wall Street to Dubai” joins the panel.
The country has political turmoil and a lot of pressure on the economy, explains Tim Seymour. However, I think Turkcell is a buy, he adds, as a play on growing consumer demand.
I wouldn’t touch Venezuela or Bolivia with a 10-foot pole, says D’Agostino. However Columbia and Peru have been fantastic over the past 5 years. I just got back from Columbia, D’Agostino reveals, and I think it’s a safe place to do business.
I like Tenaris says Tim Seymour as a Latin America play. Also look at CEMIG as a Brazil play.
