Four Food Stocks to Nourish Your Portfolio

Christopher Growe, managing director at Stifel Nicolaus, told CNBC he sees a few “tasty” food stocks that will help boost portfolios.

“The fundamentals look like they’re going to pick up in 2009,” he said.

- Kellogg

- General Mills

- HJ Heinz

- Dean Foods

“All four [companies] have unique aspects to them,” said Growe.

“Kellogg, General Mills and Heinz are very consistent, strong growth oriented companies. Some of those will have some negative currency effects. Dean Foods is a nice organic growth story, and it should be a good growth story in 2009.”

Growe does not own shares from any of the companies mentioned above. No immediate information about his firm was provided.
