Stock Picker: My Recession Sectors

Cozad Asset Management's Ron Kiddoo says stock-market investing is a tricky business, particularly because of the timing, but he thinks the time has come to get involved in some specific sectors.

"It's very difficult to get in and out of a market," he told CNBC. "You have to make two right decisions, not just one."

The first decision is when to get out; the second, when to get back in.

"Most people get out because they're afraid, and then they wait too long to get back in," he explained. "We think the market has had its low, and now is the time to stay in."

Kiddoo, who advises his clients to have 60 to 70 percent of their investments in equities, expects the recession to continue through the coming year, so he's strong on consumer staples, health care, and industrial stocks , which he thinks will prosper from President-elect Obama's infrastructure strategy.
