Supertex is up nearly 14 percent Wednesday on heavy trading volume, after Microchip Technology filed papers declaring 5.4 percent ownership in the circuit manufacturer late last night.
We find no unusual options activity in SUPX today, but note that Microchip sold puts recently to acquire more than 100,000 shares.
Stock volume in the first 70 minutes of the session topped the full-day average for the last 20 days, on a slow holiday week at that.
