Former HP CEO Fiorina Faces Cancer Diagnosis

Carly Fiorina, former Hewlett Packard CEO, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery on Monday at Stanford Hospital, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Fiorina, a Republican expected to attempt a U.S. Senate run, learned of her diagnosis on Feb. 20, the day before she appeared at the state GOP convention in Sacramento.

She was publicly criticized for the $21 million pension and additional $21 million stock options and benefits she received during her forced resignation from her position at Hewlett Packard

She is expected to begin chemotherapy treatment and will restrict her activities and travel for the next several months to recover.
