Risky Danica Spot Not As Effective

Yesterday, we showed you two advertisements by Boost Mobile utilizing Danica Patrick. Both of them are on the edgy side, but we thought the one of Patrick autographing the flabby pecs of two fans was so over the top that it actually wasn't as effective as it could have been.

With more than 3,000 votes in, two out of every three of you preferred the second spot with Danica's pit crew dressed in women's attire, proving that shock advertising has its limits.

Monte, who says he works for an ad firm, writes: "The shock marketing will hurt your business immensely more than it will help. Nobody will even remember what the ads are about. What executive would approve such a marketing program?"

We can confirm, Monte, that this spot got a lot of eyeballs. Did it boost Boost Mobile's consumer base. Too early to tell.
