London Movers: Lloyds, Prudential

Lloyds Bank topped the FTSE 100 Monday, jumping 6.3 percent, with the banking sector in Europe pulling indexes up after reports that CIT Group has worked out a solution to escape bankruptcy.

Insurer Prudential was also up 6 percent, while Royal Bank of Scotland rose 5 percent.

Mining companies such as BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto were also up.

Shares of British Airways, which said it would check passengers for swine flu before boarding its flights, were down more than 1 percent.
