Pops & Drops: Agilent, Palm...

Following are the day’s biggest winners and losers. Find out why shares of Agilent and Palm popped while Geron and GameStop dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Agilent Technologies (A) popped 8%. The company’s profit beat Wall Street's forecast as revenue fell less than expected, and the company gave a strong forecast for the current quarter. - They can't keep up with demand, adds Pete Najarian, that's a pop!

Palm (PALM) popped 5%. RBC hiked its price target for this stock to $25 from $18 saying Pre has the "special sauce" necessary to help lead the smart phone market. - I also like the Pre, says Steve Grasso.

MGM (MGM) popped 6%. A rising tide floats all boats, with optimism in the broad market lifting this casino stock higher.

Corning (GLW) popped 4%. Oppenheimer raised it’s outlook on the firm to 'Outperform' from 'Perform'.

Saks (SKS) popped 7%. The company’s quarterly loss was not as deep as expected.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

TJX Company (TJX) dropped 3%. The company posted a higher quarterly profit on Tuesday, as consumers sought out its stores to buy fashion brands at low prices, but results still disappointed investors. - I think the stock could go to $30, speculates Joe Terranova.

Geron (GERN) dropped 10%. The company said health regulators placed a clinical hold on its investigational new drug to treat spinal cord injury. - I think it's a lottery ticket but I'm a buyer, says Guy Adami.

GameStop (GME) dropped 2%. An analyst note suggested its second-quarter results would fall short and the company would have to cut its guidance.

Zimbabwe Dollar. The Zimbabwe dollar is officially dead. The country's government has decided to replace it with the U-S dollar and the South African rand in an effort to curb record world inflation of billions of percentage points. It now costs three billion Zimbabwe dollars, the equivalent of 50 U.S. cents, to ride the bus there.
