Santelli's Street: Rick Answers Your Questions

You wanted Rick, we’ll now you’ve got him. Find out how Santelli answered some of your most pressing questions.

Carl from Washington

Carl asks, “Should the government extend unemployment benefits to stimulate economy?

Bringing money down to the people gets cash in people's pockets and ultimately back into the economy, says Santelli. That's good. However, we can't extend benefits forever but I do think it's better to give money to people than institutions.

Randy from Florida

Randy says, “In the past, I've noticed that the months of September and October tend to be very volatile, I'm wondering is there a way I can bet on this increased volatility?

You can get ready for increased volatility with the Vix or by buying straddles in Treasuries if you think there will be interest rate volatility, explains Santelli. But unless you're a pro, only trade it from the long side; it's tough to short it.
