Favre's Matchup Against Packers Breaks Cable Record

Monday Night's game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers has broken the record for the most watched sporting event on cable television.

The game, broadcast on Disney's ESPN, was watched by 21.8 million viewers, according to Nielsen.

The game was a highly anticipated matchup due to the fact that it featured Brett Favre against his former team. Favre threw for 271 yards and had three touchdowns en route to a 30-23 win over the Packers. Favre also became the first quarterback in league history to beat all 32 teams.

The previous record for the most watched game on cable was last year's game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles, which was watched by 18.6 million people.
