Pops & Drops: Ford, Take-Two...

Following are the week’s biggest winners and losers. Find out why shares of Ford and Take-Two popped while C.R. Bard and Palm dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Ford (F) popped 7%. CEO Alan Mullay said the economic storm that battered the US automotive industry forced Ford into a better position and added his firm is on a ‘clear path to profitability now.’ - I think Ford wants to go to $10, says Guy Adami.

CarMax (KMX) popped 11%. The used car seller reported a larger than expected third quarter profit due to improving sales. - The stock is up 200% this year, explains Karen Finerman. That's a lot.

Take-Two Interactive (TTWO) popped 15%. Word that Carl Icahn took an 11% stake in the company buoyed investor sentiment. - There's speculation that the company may be up for sale soon, explains Pete Najarian.

Oil Service Stocks (OIH) popped 3%. After Exxon bought XTO energy, investors bid rival firms higher on the potential of further M&A. - I wouldn't play the OIH, counsels Joe Terranova.

Celgene (CELG) popped 6%. The firm reported positive results from a late stage study involving one of its top cancer drugs.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

C.R. Bard (BCR) dropped 5%. The company forecast 2010 sales and earnings growth below usual targets citing continued economic pressure on hospitals.

Palm (PALM) dropped 16%. The maker of the Pre smartphone reported slow phone sales in its most recent quarter leading to speculation it may not hit current revenue targets.

Carnival (CCL) dropped 1%. The cruise line said deep discounts and slower bookings combined to drag down fourth-quarter profit by 48 percent.
