Pops & Drops: Pfizer, El Paso...

Following are the day’s biggest winners and losers. Find out why shares of Pfizer and El Paso popped while Sprint and Imax dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Parker-Hannifin (PH) popped 5%. The world’s largest maker of hydraulic equipment gave an earnings forecast above analysts’ estimates. - Valuations are rich, says Guy Adami. I'd be taking profits.

Pfizer (PFE) popped 3%. The potential of a GOP win in the Massachusetts special election sent this and many other health care names higher. - That's not much of a surprise, chuckles Karen Finerman.

El Paso (EP) popped 7%. Investors interpreted recent options action, at 4 times average volume, mostly in February $12 calls, as a bullish signal. - There are also a lot of deals going on in the space, explains Tim Seymour.

TD Ameritrade (AMTD) popped 3%. Investors liked hearing that the online broker reported higher trading volumes.

AIG (AIG) popped 1%. The troubled insurer looked to reduce and pay out retention payments to some of its employees in order to avoid a showdown over bonuses.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

Sprint (S) dropped 4%. Bernstein downgraded the wireless carrier to 'underperform' from market perform, citing competitive pricing by competitors. - I'm a seller of the next move higher, says Joe Terranova.

Imax (IMAX) dropped 1%. Merriman cut the stock to 'sell' from 'neutral' saying longer term competition will weigh on the name.

Baidu (BIDU) dropped 6%. Investors took profits after Google’s rival in China popped last week.
