S&P 500 Earnings Leaderboard: Biggest Surprises Season to Date

As of this morning, nearly 15% of the S&P 500 companies have reported earnings.

Here's how things stand so far:

  • Companies Exceeding EPS Estimates: 79%
  • Companies Matching EPS Estimates: 3%
  • Companies Falling Below EPS Estimates: 19%

At the same point last quarter, 11% of the companies reporting had missed EPS estimates and 79% had beaten estimates.

Micron Tech has had the biggest percent surprise to the upside followed by Parker Hannifin . In absolute dollars, Goldman Sachs' leads with a surprise of over $1.5 billion, followed by Intel with a $550 million surprise.
