As of this morning, nearly 50% of the S&P 500 companies have reported earnings.

- Companies Exceeding EPS Estimates: 78%
- Companies Matching EPS Estimates: 8%
- Companies Falling Below EPS Estimates: 14%
At the same point last year, 35% of the companies reporting had missed EPS estimates and 56% had beaten estimates.
Eastman Kodak has had the biggest percent surprise to the upside followed by Micron Tech . In absolute dollars, Goldman Sachs' still leads with a surprise of over $1.5 billion, followed by Apple with a $1.4 billion surprise.
