The market is waiting for signs of an improvement on the jobs front for proof that the recovery is underway.
The February jobs report, due out Friday, is being clouded by a variety of factors, from snow storms in the Northeast to a large number of census workers being hired.
As a result, the forecasts for nonfarm payrolls range from a drop of 150,000 jobs to an increase of 100,000. The consensus is for a loss of 50,000 jobs, according to the latest Reuters survey of economists.
