Twitter to Boost Cooperation With Developers: Stone

Twitter is determined to work with independent application developers "more and more," Biz Stone, Twitter co-founder and creative director, told CNBC from the company's Chirp developer conference in San Francisco.

Thousands of independent developers make about three billion requests each day to Twitter servers. Stone said "creativity is the answer" in allowing those people to take part in Twitter's "economics."

Twitter hopes for, but still has largely failed to produce, income from micro-blogging.

"The economics of our platform extend out to the ecosystem—all the folks here today can participate in those economics," Stone said.
