McDonald’s

Janney Capital Markets analyst Mark Kalinowski raised his rating on McDonald’s from ‘Neutral’ to ‘Buy' and he raised his price target to $75 from $62 citing the potential for stronger same store sales.

Kalinowski tells the desk "we did a survey of 30 domestic franchisees and they generated 2.9% same store sales growth in March. That's the best monthly showing in the US for the past 6 months. And it comes against a tough comparison."

As a result, "we think sales momentum is taking a turn for the better," he says.

What should you make of it?

I'd play it long restaurant supplier Sysco, says Brian Kelly. That way it doesn't matter if McDonald's sells a Big Mac or rival Burger King sells a Whopper. SYY supplies everybody.

Red Hat

Oppenheimer upgraded Red Hat from ‘Perform’ to ‘Outperform’ with a $40 price target citing increased demand.

What should you make of it?

I'd keep an eye on this stock, says Pete Najarian. Somebody could be sniffing around this name.
