SAN DIEGO, May 10, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Envision Solar International, Inc., (www.envisionsolar.com) (OTCBB:EVSI), a leading solar planner, architect and inventor designing and deploying clean energy systems globally, announces solar integrated building solutions for top U.S. companies that want to incorporate clean, renewable energy into their sustainability efforts.
Envision Solar is the first company to invent and build structures for solar that address the unused millions of acres of parking spaces and also incorporate solar-to-electric vehicle charging stations. The company has designed and/or installed more than nine megawatts of solar arrays for commercial, residential and public entities worldwide, including a project for Dell, which was recently ranked second on Newsweek's environmental ranking of America's 500 largest corporations.
The Solar Grove(R) implemented at Dell headquarters in Round Rock, Texas, is part of Dell's long-standing commitment to sustainability and includes two Envision Solar CleanCharge(TM) systems. The 110.62 kilowatt (kW) system of 11 Solar Trees(R) produces approximately 131,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) annually, uses 516 BP Solar photovoltaic (PV) modules and provides shade for 56 parking spaces.
Another Envision Solar project, the Solar Grove located at Kyocera's North American headquarters, is the largest privately owned solar-generating system in San Diego County. The system's 25 Solar Trees form a 235 kW carport in an employee parking lot, using 1,400 Kyocera KC-187G solar PV modules and 200 custom-manufactured, light-filtering PV modules.
"We are dedicated to creating solar energy solutions that will provide renewable energy options to any company or organization, and we have a proven track record of success with major corporations," said Bob Noble, CEO of Envision Solar. "Our work with leading companies is an example of what can be done for companies across the U.S. who are looking to achieve long-term sustainability." Envision Solar is also launching CleanCharge solar charging station initiative for quick service restaurant (QSR) parking lots. CleanCharge is the first initiative to bring shade, clean solar energy and electric vehicle charging stations to QSR parking lots.
Envision Solar is committed to enabling corporations, municipalities, universities and other organizations to realize their long-term sustainability opportunities by creating strategic solar master planning solutions.
