CNBC, the leading business and financial news channel, today announced that Maithreyi Seetharaman has joined the channel as anchor and correspondent based at the network’s London studios.
Seetharaman will contribute to CNBC’s morning shows including the channel’s flagship programme Squawk Box Europe as well as Worldwide Exchange, Strictly Money and European Closing Bell. She will also take on general reporting assignments, interviewing business and political leaders from across the region.
Seetharaman has more than nine years experience as a journalist across four continents. She joins from Bloomberg where she hosted cross-continent shows and was the network’s stocks editor. Seetharaman has also reported live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq. She's also been the cornerstone of stock market analysis at Bloomberg's European Headquarters in London.
Maithreyi was previously an integral part of CNBC TV 18 in India, CNBC’s affiliate channel, where she hosted prime time market and news programming in addition to the network’s documentary features. She has also worked for the Indian Express group of Newspapers and written for magazines including Elle and The Globalist.

Seetharaman holds two Masters degrees, from Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Bond University's School of Humanities.
