S&P Rebalancing Citi — Indexers Must Buy 292 Million Shares

Citigroup rebalancing.

Standard and Poor's is rebalancing Citi at the close today (Wednesday), to account for additional shares the government sold to the public.

Indexers tied to the S&P 500 will need to buy approximately 292 million additional shares of Citi at or near the close. This is about 40 percent of the average daily volume of Citi.
