Since he said to move to the sidelines in HP and Dell both stocks have surged with Dell’s percentage gains almost hitting double digits.
The Academic made the fateful call on August 26th while the rivals were embroiled in a bidding war for 3PAR.
“Dell and HP seem to be companies struggling for growth,” he said.
”We know the story about HP in the past few weeks. People love to have a good acquisition; it makes them feel like they're moving forward but in this case when you have the bidup it's great for shareholders of 3par. I don't think it says anything good about Dell or HP.”
