NYSE Volume Tops 5 Billion Shares

Consolidated volume on the NYSE has exceeded 5 billion shares for the first time since July 22nd.

Citigroup traded over 1 billion shares, accounting for 20 percent of total volume, part of which was due to a rebalancing of C in the S&P 500 to account for the additional shares the government recently sold.
