Pops & Drops: International Paper, Broadcom...

Following are the day’s biggest winners and losers. Find out why shares of International Paper and Broadcom popped while Deutsche Bank and Whirlpool dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

International Paper (IP) popped 4%. The company posted a much higher-than-expected quarterly profit citing higher demand. - I like this stock, says Joe Terranova. I think it goes higher.

Broadcom (BRCM) popped 10%. The company surprised the Street by forecasting a potential rise in fourth quarter revenue due to strong sales of chips used in gadgets such as Apple's iPhone. - I suspect there's more upside, says Pete Najarian.

Devry (DV) popped 7%. The company reported better-than-expected first-quarter results late on Tuesday and its CEO said "We're off to a good start and our first-quarter results put us in a good position to deliver our goal of roughly 20 percent earnings growth for fiscal 2011." - I'm a seller into the strength, says Anthony Scaramucci.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

Sprint (S) dropped 10%. The company posted a wider third-quarter loss and it continued to lose its most lucrative contract subscribers. - It's not for me, says Karen Finerman.

Whirlpool (WHR) dropped 3%. The company said price competition dragged down its third-quarter revenue in the U.S. while revenue remained nearly flat worldwide. - I can't get behind this stock, says Brian Kelly.
