BOB I HAVE JUST GOTTEN OFF THE PHONE WITH GEORGE PIPAS WHOSE HEAD OF SALES AND ANALYSTS AT FORD AND HE'S INDICATING AS HE LOOKS AT ALL THE NUMBERS AND BELIEVE ME THE AUTO MAKERS ARE ALL REPORTING THEIR NUMBERS NOW HE'S HAD A CHANCE TO LOOKS AT ALL OF THESE AND HE SAYS THE OCTOBER SALES RATE FOR THE INDUSTRY IS GOING TO CRACK 12 MILLION THE SIGNIFICANCE HERE IS THAT IT IS THE FIRST TIME HITTING 12 MILLION SINCE LAST SUMMER BUT THAT WAS A CASH FOR CLUNKER MONTH SO YOU'VE GOT TO GO ALL THE WAY BACK TO 2008 TO FIND THE LAST TIME THERE WERE MONTHLY SALES HITTING THE PACE OF 12 MILLION VEHICLES WELL OF COURSE MARIA AND BOB WE ARE GOING TO GET ALL THE NUMBERS TOMORROW FROM THE MAJOR AUTO MAKERS THIS IS NOT A HUGE SURPRISE BUT INDICATIVE OF THE GROWING STRENGTH IN THE AUTO INDUSTRY.
