McDonald's GOP Handbill Under Attack by Dems

Democrats are asking authorities to investigate a handbill tucked in the paychecks of some McDonald's employees in northeastern Ohio that advocated votes for three Republican candidates.

State party chairman Chris Redfern said Saturday he has asked Stark County prosecutor John Ferrero and U.S. Attorney Steven Dettelbach to join others in reviewing the insert as possible illegal voter intimidation.

Employees of Paul Siegfried's fast food restaurants in Canton received the handbill. It urged workers to vote for Republicans John Kasich, Rob Portman and Jim Renacci (reh-NAY'-see) in order to protect their raises and benefits.

Siegfried apologized Friday. Records show he donated $500 to Kasich's campaign in September.
