Cloudium Systems Announces Partnership with Microsoft Launch of VCA2000 product family to advance the 'virtual desktop'

LIMERICK, Ireland & DUBLIN & BERLIN, Nov 12, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- --Creation of 25 jobs in Limerick and Dublin Cloudium Systems ("Cloudium" or the "Company"), the Irish company focused on developing products and solutions for virtual desktops and cloud computing, today announces a partnership with Microsoft. The partnership was announced at TechEd, Microsoft's premier technical education event, in Berlin.

Cloudium Systems Formed in 2009, Cloudium Systems is a pioneer in the creation of innovative, high-performance solutions for rich media applications - spanning desktop virtualisation to IPTV -- which will advance the continuing development of cloud computing and the use of the 'virtual desktop'.

The Company was founded by veterans of networking and virtualisation who have a track record of creating new businesses and bringing new products to market based on technological innovation. Cloudium currently employs a team of 14 in Limerick and Dublin and expects to create a further 25 jobs over the next 3 years.

Partnership with Microsoft Cloudium is today announcing a partnership with Microsoft and the licensing of Microsoft's RemoteFX technology for its products. Cloudium is also launching its VCA2000 product family; its first product range to incorporate Microsoft's RemoteFX technology. This product family is a next generation, high performance, low cost, energy efficient 'zero client' solution based on Cloudium developed CA2000 semiconductor. The product will provide users the same experience as a desktop PC from a virtual desktop.
