Japan's Tonen Chem to skip 2011 cracker maintenance

TOKYO, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Exxon Mobil's Japan unit, Tonen Chemical Corp, plans to skip scheduled maintenance on its 491,000 tonnes-per-year naphtha cracker in 2011, an industry source said on Friday. The company's sole cracker in Kawasaki, eastern Japan, completed maintenance earlier this year, and the next round of maintenance is likely to be in 2014. Tonen Chemical is a petrochemical arm of TonenGeneral Sekiyu KK, which is Exxon Mobil's Japan unit.
