SAO PAULO, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Retail sales volumes in Brazil rose 0.4 percent in September from August , government statistics agency IBGE said on Friday. Retail sales were expected to firm 0.15 percent, according to the median estimate of 18 economists polled by Reuters. Forecasts ranged for contraction of 1 percent to growth of 0.7 percent. Sales jumped 11.8 percent from the year-ago period , the IBGE added, more than the 11.1 percent median estimate in the Reuters poll. Forecasts ranged from 9.5 percent to 11.9 percent.
