SEATTLE, Nov 12, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking (ADN), today announced that it has been named the Best Place to Work as part of the 2010 Best of Western Washington Awards, sponsored by NBC affiliate KING 5 TV. F5 also won top honors in six categories for the annual People's Picks Awards, sponsored by NWjobs, the job listing service of the Seattle Times and Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
For Evening Magazine's Best of Western Washington Awards, winning companies were determined by website votes over the course of one month. This year, more than 400,000 votes were cast, and the top five companies in each category were recognized. Prior to 2010, F5 has consistently placed in the top five for the Best Place to Work.
In the People's Picks Awards, F5 topped the region's list in all categories that the company was eligible for, including: Favorite Seattle-Area Company; Best Benefits; Most Family-Friendly Company; Coolest Office Space; Most Unusual Perk(s); and Favorite Technology Company.
NWjobs also noted the company's growth over the years in stating, "F5 is one of Seattle's great success stories, developing from a small startup into a major provider of IT infrastructures for the world's biggest Fortune 50 companies, Internet search engines, and universities." According to the award announcement from NWjobs, F5 benefits include free gym use and fitness classes, $3,000 for a family vacation for 10 years of service, and an extra $100 per month for choosing alternate transportation methods (biking, walking, riding the bus, etc.) instead of driving to work.
F5's Elliott Bay location also helped the company top the Coolest Place to Work category, with NWjobs highlighting employees' ergonomically tailored workspaces, views of the Olympic Mountains, and break area with pinball, pool, and video games. The article adds that, even with 750 Seattle-area employees and more than 2,000 worldwide, "F5 is still a place where self-described geeks get to build the stuff they love, while enjoying some of the best benefits, support, and perks in the city." "We are honored to be singled out by NWjobs and Evening Magazine," said John McAdam, President and CEO at F5. "These awards are a reflection of our employees' tremendous commitment and enthusiasm, and they help emphasize why F5 is such a great company. We've worked hard to create an atmosphere where people can deliver innovative solutions for customers, aim high in their own careers, and still have the ability to balance important work/life priorities. I'm very proud of our team for continuing to earn this kind of recognition."
